They will be given priority in the recruitments in Para Military Forces and Assam Rifles.
Amit Shah said on Wednesday that Agniveers recruited under the Army’s new Short Term Recruitment Policy would be given priority in paramilitary forces and Assam Rifles jobs after completion of service. He said that “Agneepath” scheme is a visionary scheme and a welcome decision from PM Narendra Modi. This will give a bright future to the youth of the country. He said that it is in this context that the Home Ministry has decided to give priority to Agniveers in the recruitments in Para Military Forces and Assam Rifles.
Agniveers recruited under the Agneepath scheme will be military personnel below the rank of officer. They will get an appointment for 4 years and will be discharged with a lump sum amount of 11 lakhs. Of these men, about 25 percent of the soldiers will be placed for further service after passing another round of screening. There will be a separate designation for Agniveers. Apart from this, a different insignia will be inscribed on his uniform.
