Patna, February 22, 2021: Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad presented the budget of Bihar for the first time today. Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad stated “We have prepared the budget after listening to suggestions from people of all sectors, this is an inclusive budget and every section has been taken care of.” During this, Tara Kishore Prasad announced the ‘7 Nishchay Part-2’ scheme.

Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad presented a budget of Rs 2,18,303 crore, of which Rs 1,00,518 crore will be used for implementing schemes. Deputy CM Tar Kishore Prasad said that Cattle Development Institute will be established. Along with this, a digital counseling center will be set up for students going abroad. There will be an attempt to buy pulses at MSP. Panchayat-wise data of people working outside the state will be collected.

Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad informed that solar street lights will be installed in every village, and the process has already commenced. For this, a provision of Rs 150 crore has been made in the budget of 2021-22. If a woman wishes to set up an industry, she will be given a grant of Rs 5 lakh and a loan of Rs 5 lakh without interest. Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad stated that more than 20 lakh employment opportunities will be created from the year 2020 to 2025, for which the Department of Industries will be given Rs 200 crore in the year 2021-22. To promote women’s entrepreneurship, a provision of 35 percent reservation for women in employment has been made. Financial assistance of 25 thousand rupees will be given to unmarried students of 12th pass and 50 thousand rupees will be given to female undergraduates.

Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad announced that a medical university and an engineering university will be set up in Bihar, along with an international sports stadium, as well as a Sports University will be set up in Rajgir. Didi’s kitchen shall be started in the hospitals of all district subdivisions.

When Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad was presenting the budget, the opposition raised the issue of giving jobs to the people. However, the opposition calmed down after a while. He said that better technical training will be given to the youth, for this ITI institutes will be modernized, Mega Skill Center will be opened for every youth in every district. Tools room will be set up in every center as well.

Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad announced the ‘7 Nishchay Part-2’ scheme for the next 5 years. Under this, the plans of the ‘7 Nishchay Part-1’ will continue, but the focus will be on entrepreneurship development of youth in Part-2 so that according to the demand of the market, modern technical people can connect with employment and self-employment. Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad gave details of the ‘7 Nishchay’ scheme run by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He informed about the campaigns and development works carried out under this scheme.

During the presentation of the budget, Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad talked about the steps taken by the government during the Corona period. He said that the government did a great job under Nitish Kumar during the Corona era. Due to this, the death rate of corona in Bihar was quite low.

Due to opposition uproar, the budget was presented at 2 pm instead of 1 pm. Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav raised the matter of paper leak in the matriculation examination. Apart from this, he also questioned regarding inflation and unemployment. The opposition also brought forward a motion for adjournment, which was rejected.
