New Delhi, 12th July 2021: Former Indian cricket team batsman Yashpal Sharma has passed away. Yashpal Sharma,66, died due to heart attack. Sharma was part of India’s 1983 World Cup winning team.
Born on August 11, 1954, in Ludhiana, Yashpal Sharma made his debut in international cricket in the year 1978 against the arch-rival team Pakistan. Yashpal Sharma, who played the last international match of his career in 1985, was never dismissed for zero in one-day cricket in a span of seven years.

Right-handed batsman Yashpal Sharma played 42 One Day International matches in his career. In his 40 innings, he scored 883 runs while remaining unbeaten 9 times. Although he could never score a century in ODI cricket, he did play half-century innings 4 times.
Yashpal Sharma used to bowl a little too, but he did not have much success as a bowler, as he could only take one wicket each in both formats of cricket at that time.
