Kolkata, January 19, 2021: The Shiv Sena is all set to create a buzz in the West Bengal elections. The Sena, which is in the anti-BJP camp, wants to create a similar situation for its new allies against BJP, formed due to Asasuddin Owaisi’s participation. However, the strategy’s effectiveness will be judged on the election results.
BJP and Shiv Sena were allies for almost three decades, but now both are against each other. Shiv Sena is taking Maharashtra’s war to other states to harm BJP as much as possible. While BJP aims to establish itself in power, on the other hand, Shiv Sena is trying to spoil the BJP game in the Bengal elections. The BJP stokes Hindutva’s issue in the state, and Shiv Sena is also striking the same issue.
Senior Sena leader Sanjay Raut has tweeted that Shiv Sena has decided to contest the Bengal Assembly elections after discussing with party chief Uddhav Thackeray. Sanjay Raut has also given the slogan of Jai Hind, Jai Bangla. Raut says that the Shiv Sena unit in Bengal has been in operation for many years. He will go to West Bengal to research, and Uddhav Thackeray will guide him. It is just starting, and we do not target defeating or helping anyone. Our motive is to expand the party’s reach, Raut said.
The discussion on the presence of AIMIM leader Asasuddin Owaisi is essential these days in various states’ electoral politics. Anti-BJP parties are calling it BJP’s B team. However, both BJP and Owaisi are standing against each other. Opposition camps feel that secular votes are being distributed due to the participation of Owaisi. In such a situation, Shiv Sena can also divide Hindu votes. However, Shiv Sena got less than NOTA votes in the last Bihar assembly elections. In many seats, it did not even have candidates in some seats.
