Jammu, 27th June 2021: In a first of its kind ‘attack’, two explosions rocked the technical area of the Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu in five minutes today.

“Two low intensity explosions were reported early Sunday morning in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station. One caused minor damage to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area. There was no damage to any equipment. Investigation is in progress along with civil agencies”, IAF issued a statement.

The first explosion occurred at 1.37 am damaging the roof of a building while the second explosion was in an open area at 1.42 am today.

Two persons had sustained minor injuries in this explosion. They have been identified as Arvind Singh and LAC SK Singh. Both of them were immediately given first aid in the MI Room located at Air Force Station Jammu. Meanwhile, Air Vice Chief Marshal Vikram Singh has also reached Jammu. He will discuss this in detail with the officials and take stock of the current situation. Apart from this, there will also be an in-depth discussion about the security arrangements of the air force station.

Army and police along with the bomb disposal squad have reached the technical airport. The entire area has been cordoned off. Para commandos have also gone inside the airport. These commandos will also help in collecting vital clues of the blast by scouting the entire incident.

National Security Guards (NSG) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) are also reaching Jammu.
