Punjab. March 01, 2021: Electoral strategist Prashant Kishore has been appointed as Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in Punjab. He has been given the status of the Cabinet Minister. Reportedly, Prashant Kishore will take only 1 rupee salary in the form of token money. However, they will be given other facilities including bungalows, offices, telephones, etc.
The terms of service issued by the CMO state that Prashant Kishore’s tenure will be equal to Amarinder Singh’s tenure as Punjab CM. He will be accompanied by a private secretary, a personal assistant, a data entry operator, a clerk, and two peons.
He will be given a bungalow to be given to the cabinet minister. In addition to a landline phone in office and camp office/residence, the cost of a mobile phone will also be taken, which will not have any limit. Transport will be provided to them by the State Transport Commissioner. He will be able to take advantage of the travel facility provided to the cabinet minister. For the sake of hospitality, he can spend up to 5 thousand rupees. The medical facilities the cabinet minister gets will also be available to him.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday offered election strategist Prashant Kishore to be his chief advisor. Amarinder Singh tweeted, “Glad to say that Prashant Kishore has joined me as the Chief Advisor. I am hopeful to work together for the betterment of the people of Punjab. ”
Kishore commanded the Congress election campaign during the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 2017. Currently, Kishore’s company, the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) is helping Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress in the West Bengal elections. Kishore commanded Narendra Modi’s campaign for the post of Prime Minister in the 2014 general election.
