New Delhi 21st May 2021: The period of lockdown has been extended in Kerala and Karnataka due to the Corona epidemic. In Kerala, the lockdown has been extended till 30th May, while in Karnataka the lockdown has been extended till 7th June. The Chief Ministers of both states have announced to extend the lockdown.

It has been decided not to remove the Corona curfew in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. In a meeting of the Bhopal Crisis Management Team on Friday, it has been decided that the corona curfew in Bhopal will be extended till 31st May. In such a situation, it is being said that now the lockdown can be increased in UP as well. Soon CM Yogi Adityanath can take a decision on this.

Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa tweeted that the lockdown in the state will be extended till June 7. He said that I appeal to all citizens to follow the guidelines of Corona and cooperate with the government to prevent the spread of infection. CM Yeddyurappa said that let us all work together to defeat this epidemic. He informed that it has been decided to provide free treatment to black fungus patients in government district hospitals.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has announced to extend the lockdown till May 30 due to increasing cases of corona in the state. However, out of the four districts, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Thrissur in which lockdown was imposed thrice, it will be removed from Saturday (May 21).

Significantly, Karnataka remains a hotspot of Corona these days. Here, 10-15 thousand corona cases are coming every day for the past several days, while hundreds of people are losing their lives. Kerala is also troubled by the havoc of Corona.

In the last 24 hours in Kerala, 29,673 cases were reported and 142 people lost their lives. During this period, 41,032 people also recovered from the disease.
