Bengaluru, 2nd February 2023: A software engineer and her daughter died in a major road accident on Bannerghatta Road in Bangalore. A cement mixer truck was passing by Bannerghatta Road. Meanwhile, 47-year-old software engineer Gayatri Kumar and her 15-year-old daughter Samta Kumar were passing by the same road. According to the police, the accident took place at Bylamara Doddi on Kaggalipura Bannerghatta Road at around 7:35 am when Gayatri was going in a Hyundai Venue car to drop her daughter at school.
The car and the cement mixer truck were next to each other, heading towards Basavanapura. While approaching the bend, the truck driver applied brakes and lost control of the vehicle. The truck overturned, crushing both the occupants of the car. Both of them died on the spot. After the accident, the truck driver left the vehicle at the spot and fled.
Gayatri Kumar and her 15-year-old daughter Samta Kumar are residents of Concord Valley. Gayatri Kumari used to work in a private IT firm. Her daughter was a class 10 student at Sherwood High School, Basavanapura, Bannerghatta Main Road. Gayatri’s husband, Sunil Kumar, lodged a complaint with the Bannerghatta police station. Sunil said that his car is fitted with BlueLink software through which he received a notification of an auto crash at 7:49 am.
The picture of this accident became viral on social media. After this, the netizens put the officers in a circle of questions. They questioned the condition of the road and the way heavy vehicles were plying. Police have registered a complaint after getting the information. They have traced the owner of the truck and are trying to trace the driver. The police said further investigation is going on into the matter.
