10th November 2023: The British car manufacturer, Lotus, has made a significant debut in the Indian market by introducing its Lotus Electric SUV. Known for producing high-end vehicles, including supercars and luxury cars, Lotus is now venturing into the Indian market with its electric SUV, establishing its first outlet in Delhi. In direct competition with brands like BMW and Lamborghini, the Lotus Electric SUV offers three variants in the Indian market: ELETRA, Eletra S, and Eletra R, with prices starting from Rs 2.55 crore ex-showroom.
The design of the Lotus Electric SUV exhibits coupe SUV inspiration, featuring an aggressive front profile with L-shaped matrix LED headlights, an active grille, and a large air dam. The SUV’s side profile showcases 22-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, contributing to its overall stylish appearance. Additionally, the front side boasts a well-designed LED headlight unit and door handles, available in a dual-tone color option of black with yellow, providing a distinctive look. A rear spoiler and a large blackout rear bumper with a connected LED taillight unit enhance the vehicle’s appeal.
The interior of the Lotus SUV mirrors luxury, akin to BMW and Mercedes, offering safety, convenience, and luxurious features. The all-black interior theme includes blackout upholstered seats, large touch infotainment systems, and well-designed AC vents. The Lotus Electric SUV comes equipped with a 15.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, featuring digital controls and voice commands for various functions, such as HTC control, AC on/off, and more.
Luxury features extend to the back of the SUV, where a big touch screen system allows control over special features. Notable features include a 1380-watt 15-speaker KEF sound system as standard, with the top model offering a 23-speaker sound system of 2160 watts, complete with a 3D surround system. Additional amenities comprise wireless charging, four-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, and more.
The Lotus Electric SUV prioritizes safety with ADAS technology, featuring front and rear collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, departure from line warning, lane return, adaptive cruise control, real cross-traffic alert, traffic jam assist, and high beam assist. The vehicle is offered with three engine options in the Indian market, all powered by a 112kWh battery pack, ensuring a robust combination of performance and safety.
