New Delhi, 4th December 2022: Every year, India celebrates December 4 as Navy Day to honour the contribution of the Indian Navy and its accomplishments during “Operation Trident” during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
Today (December 4), Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his best wishes for Navy Day and noted that the force has distinguished itself with its humanitarian spirit while “steadfastly” defending the country.
Extending his wishes, PM Modi tweeted, “Best wishes on Navy Day to all navy personnel and their families. We in India are proud of our rich maritime history. The Indian Navy has steadfastly protected our nation and has distinguished itself with its humanitarian spirit during challenging times.”
Today, the Indian Navy is prepared to showcase India’s military power and capabilities through an “Operational Demonstration” in Visakhapatnam.
Navy Day celebrations are being held outside of the National Capital this year for the first time. The capability and adaptability of the Indian Navy would be displayed by its ships, submarines, aircraft, and Special Forces from the Eastern, Western, and Southern Naval Commands. The celebration will conclude with a ceremony at dusk and ship illumination in the anchorage.
