Sitamarhi, June 12, 2020: There has been an indiscriminate firing by the Nepal Police on the India-Nepal border in Sitamarhi district of Bihar today. Out of five Indians who were shot in this incident, one person has died and while one injured youth has been detained and taken away by Nepal Police.

There is a dispute between India and Nepal over the border in Uttarakhand. The Nepali Parliament has also passed a resolution in this regard, in which many border parts of India have been declared as part of Nepal. There is tension between the two countries over this.

According to Bihar police, the condition of two of those injured in the firing is said to be critical at the moment. They are undergoing treatment in a private hospital. The incident took place in Lalbandi Jankinagar village under Pipra Parsain panchayat border area of ​​Sitamarhi. According to the information, there was a dispute on the Indo-Nepal border, after which indiscriminate firing was carried out by the Nepal Police on farmers working in the field. Tensions at the border have remained high since the firing. Many senior officials of the district administration have rushed to the spot.

Tensions are currently running high between the two countries over the new Nepal map. India says that this whole issue has created a crisis of confidence between the two countries. In the new map, Nepal has shown a total area of ​​395 sq km in its share. Apart from Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani, it also includes Gunji, Nabhi and Kati villages. Nepal has 60 square kilometres of Kalapani in its map. Similarly, Nepal has claimed 395 sq km of Limpiyadhura.
