New Delhi, 6th January 2022: Around 60 shops were burnt to ashes due to a massive fire in Lajpat Rai Market located in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, in which the loss of crores of rupees has come to the fore.
13 vehicles of the Delhi Fire Department reached the spot and brought the fire under control after a lot of effort.
According to Rajesh Shukla (Assistant Divisional Officer, Delhi Fire Service), “a total of 105 kiosks caught fire in Teh Bazari area. Local people say that the fire started due to an electrical fault. There were no casualties or injuries in this. The fire is extinguished and the cooling work has been going on since morning.”
Delhi Fire Department officials said, “a fire broke out in Lajpat Rai Market on Thursday morning. By the time firefighters reached the spot, the fire had spread badly. 13 fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire. According to the information received, there has been no loss of life in this. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.”
Also, a fire broke out in East Delhi’s Dhaba. A sudden fire broke out in a Dhaba in the Laxmi Nagar area late on Wednesday night. Due to the fire, all the items kept in the Dhaba got burnt to ashes. 4 fire tenders brought the fire under control. There is no report of any casualty in this accident.
