New Delhi, 5th June 2021: Announcing the new unlock plan on Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the lockdown will continue in the capital even beyond Monday, but a lot of concessions are being given. Kejriwal said that markets and malls are being opened on an odd-even basis from 10 am to 8 pm. whereas stand-alone shops will open for seven days. Odd-even will be applicable on mall shops as well.
Along with this, private offices can be opened with 50% capacity. Shops of essential goods will open daily and Delhi Metro is also being started with 50% capacity. In government offices, only 100% of Group A officers and 50% of the officers below will work. 100% of employees engaged in essential services will be able to work.
There have been about 400 cases in Delhi in the last 24 hours and the positivity rate has also come down to around 0.5%. In view of this, it can be said that the situation is now quite controlled and in view of this, the Delhi Government has decided to reopen the markets.
Kejriwal said that we are ready to face the third wave of Corona. Keeping in view the possibility of children getting infected, we have constituted a pediatric task force. This task force will look after the preparations for the treatment of children. At the same time, two genome sequencing labs will also be set up in Delhi to detect new variants of the corona.
The Chief Minister said that there was a shortage of oxygen in Delhi in the past, in view of which IGL has been asked to set up an oxygen plant of 150 tonnes and oxygen storage of 420 metric tonnes will be done in Delhi. 25 oxygen tankers are being procured.
