Shahpur (Punjab), 14th October 2022: Today, a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot down a drone in Ramsas village under Ajnala sub-division near Shahpur border. This incident took place at around four in the morning.

As soon as the personnel heard the sound of the drone, he shot it down immediately.

According to officials, the drone was sent by Pakistan to infiltrate the country.

Gurdaspur Range DIG Prabhakar Joshi said, “The 73 battalion personnel deployed near Shahpur Border Out Post (BOP) brought down the drone. Our soldiers on duty showed courage and ability in their firing skills. The drone was shot down immediately after it reached Indian territory.”

He added, “The drone had entered the Indian territory through Pakistan’s Deori Forward Post. The drone was sent to an area where there is a dense forest. It was shot down in a sugercane field. Roshan bombs used to illuminate the sky were also fired by our soldiers.”

After conducting an investigation, it was found that a rope was attached to the drone. The BSF and Punjab police are searching the area.
