Amritsar, 14th October 2022: Another attempt by Pakistan to infiltrate along the LoC has been foiled. Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Friday shot down a drone near Ramsas village under Ajnala sub-division.
The drone had entered Indian territory through Pakistan’s Deori Forward Post. The area where the drone was sent is densely forested. The drone was shot down in a sugarcane field. The incident took place at around four in the morning. The personnel on duty came into action as soon as they heard the sound of the drone. After this, the drone was shot down while taking action.
Gurdaspur Range DIG Prabhakar Joshi said, “The 73 battalion personnel deployed near Shahpur Border Out Post (BOP) brought down the drone. Our soldiers on duty showed dexterity and displayed firing skills and courage. The drone was shot down immediately after it hit Indian territory. Apart from the shelling, the Roshan bombs used to illuminate the sky were also fired by our soldiers.’’
On investigation, a rope was also found attached to the drone. BSF and Punjab Police are still searching the area.
