Kishanganj, 10th April 2021: Kishanganj Town police station in-charge who went to raid has been brutally killed. The incident took place when Police Inspector Ashwini Kumar along with his team went to raid Bantapara in West Bengal, adjacent to Kishanganj, late on Friday night in a burglary case. According to the information, the case of mob lynching is being reported.n
The information about the incident has caused a stir in the police administration. The police team rushed to the spot. On information of the incident, senior police officers Purnia IG Suresh Chaudhary and SP Kumar Ashish rushed to the spot. The body of the Town Police Station Chief has been brought to Islampur Hospital for postmortem where a postmortem is being done in the presence of senior officers.
This is not a new case of murder of a Bihar police officer. Even before this, many police officers have been killed during the raids. Most recently, on February 24, Majorganj’s Daroga Dinesh Ram had raided on a tip-off that liquor was being smuggled and a consignment of liquor had landed in Sitamarhi, Bihar. During this, the smugglers shot and killed him.
Police had registered a case against three nominees and other unidentified culprits in the Daroga Dinesh Ram murder case. Two accused were caught in the case, while the body of one Ranjan Singh was recovered at a distance of three-four kilometres from the spot. Case number 34/21 was registered in Majorganj police station against Ranjan Singh, Mukul Singh, Abhishek Singh and other unknown persons. According to the police, these three have a detailed criminal history. All the named accused in the case have been arrested.
