Patna, February 18, 2021: Robbers shot a passenger for protesting against the robbery in Gwalior-Barauni Express on Thursday night. Miscreants committed the act between Dighwara and Sonpur stations in the G5 compartment. The criminals also attacked and robbed 12 other passengers.

The injured passenger was travelling in General Coach G5. He has been identified as Shivam Yadav (22) of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh. He has been admitted to the Chhapra Sadar Hospital.

About 10 to 12 dacoits who were armed with sharp weapons and country-made pistol (Katta) started robbing passengers in the moving trains, but when Shivam opposed them, the robbers shot him in the thigh. Currently, the injured passenger is said to be out of danger. The police have recorded his statement.

Railway SP (Muzaffarpur) Ashok Kumar Singh has taken this incident very seriously and has formed an SIT team to immediately arrest the robbers.

He said that all the culprits involved in this incident have been identified, and police are searching for the accused. Apart from Siwan, the Railway Police team is raiding various places in Sonpur, Chhapra and adjoining areas.
