New Delhi, 6th July 2021: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has given a big gift to the liquor lovers living in Delhi-NCR. Under the new excise policy of the Delhi government, liquor lovers will now be able to enjoy liquor of their choice in hotels, clubs, restaurants as well as bars in Delhi till 3 AM. The new excise policy of the Delhi government has been made public on the website. Strict guidelines have been issued regarding the sale of liquor in this policy.
In the new excise policy issued by the Delhi government on Monday, a provision has been made that customers will not have to push outside the liquor contract and the hassle of waiting in long lines will also end. Now customers will be able to buy liquor by going to stores comfortably. Similarly, now customers will also get fresh beer to drink. The biggest relief is that liquor lovers will now be able to enjoy liquor of their choice in hotels, clubs, restaurants, and bars in Delhi till 3 am.
At the same time, liquor shops will be made air-conditioned and well-lit with glass doors. They will have CCTV cameras inside and outside the shop and the recording will be kept for a minimum period of one month. Adequate security arrangements shall be made by the licensee. The licensee will also be responsible for the law and order around each shop and the surrounding security. The new excise policy is based on the recommendations of the Expert Committee of the Excise Department. A group of ministers headed by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reported on this. The Delhi Cabinet in its meeting on March 22nd this year had directed the Excise Department to implement the report of the Group of Ministers (GoM) and accordingly prepare the excise policy for the year 2021-22.
At the same time, consumers will now be able to have a walk-in experience at the liquor center. Liquor vendors will provide a walk-in facility to wine lovers. Which will be specially designed and tailored to the customers. Customers will not be allowed to crowd outside a shop or on the footpath and make purchases from the counter.
