New Delhi, 18th April 2023: A parliamentary committee rebuked the Indian Railways last month for generating less than Rs 15,000 crore in revenue. For FY23, Indian Railways’ revenue increased by 25% to Rs 2.40 lakh crore.

The revenue increased to Rs 1.62 lakh crore, showing a 15% gain, reflecting a spike of over Rs 49,000 crore more than FY22. At Rs 63,300 crore, passenger revenue increase reached a record high of 61%.

These actions enabled Indian Railways to achieve an operating ratio of 98.14%.
