Srinagar, 6th June 2022: The administration is seriously considering deploying central paramilitary forces to guard the transit colonies of displaced Kashmiri Hindus and settlements of other minorities.
Apart from this, special arrangements are also being made for the security of all the temples and gurudwaras in the valley.
According to sources, all outposts and station in-charges have been asked to submit the details of all minorities living in their respective jurisdictions and also prepare a report regarding their security. The incidents of target killings in the Kashmir Valley have created a sense of fear and insecurity among displaced Kashmiri Hindus and other minorities.
Many displaced Kashmiri Hindus, who got jobs for resettlement in Kashmir under the Prime Minister’s Employment Package, have returned to Jammu. These people are demanding the transfer of their services to the Jammu division till the situation in the valley is completely normalised.
In the Kashmir Valley, the administration has also constructed transit residential colonies for these displaced Kashmiri Hindu workers at identified locations.
Sources related to the state administration said that apart from posting the displaced Kashmiri Hindus only in safe and urban areas in the valley, the administration has also taken steps to strengthen the security system for them and the colonies of other minorities living in the valley.
The deployment of a contingent of CRPF or any other central paramilitary force as security is being seriously considered in the displaced Kashmiri Hindu Transit Colonies located in the Wadi.
According to sources, the security of all temples and gurudwaras located in the valley as well as mosques and jiaratgahs are being reviewed. To ensure the security of all the shrines, police and central paramilitary personnel will be deployed there as per the requirement. CCTV cameras will also be installed around all these shrines. CCTV cameras are also being installed in the colonies of the displaced.
All outposts and station in-charges have been asked to collect complete details of Kashmiri Hindus and other minorities residing in their respective jurisdictions and prepare a report on improving their security by mentioning the existing security arrangements for them.. All the district SSPs will review the security of Kashmiri Hindus and other minorities in their respective districts at regular intervals and make improvements as necessary.
