Patna, 13th May 2021: The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) has arrested two persons in cyber fraud of oxygen cylinder operators from East Malahi of Barh. The arrest was made with help of the Delhi Police Cyber Cell.

The accused have been identified as Kamta Singh and Kamlesh Paswan. According to the police, both of them were supporting the Cyber Criminals. Through the fake posts on social sites, all the rupees were deposited in Kamta Singh’s bank account. Over 17.63 Lakh rupees were credited in the account of Kamta Singh over the last few months.

On Wednesday, the EOU laid a trap with the Bakhtiyarpur police. The police have arrested both of them. The bank account of Kamta Prasad was investigated, which had deposits of Rs 17.63 lakh.

Nayyar Hasnain Khan, ADG, EOU, said “These people cheated Rs 17.63 lakh from April to May. However, no money has been credited to his account for the last 5-6 days. Since the raids were conducted in Nalanda and Nawada and the cybercriminals were caught from there, their movement has been restricted since then. The EOU team is constantly taking action against cybercriminals on the basis of the information received.”

According to the officials, both of them are arrested after interrogation of two accused arrested from Danapur. “The EOU special team along with Delhi Police team has arrested two accused in case no.129/21 PS Special Cell, Delhi relating to covid cyber fraud in the name of an oxygen cylinder,” said the officer.
