Patna, 13th May 2021: A special team of the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Bihar Police, has arrested a director of a hospital and his two accomplices for allegedly selling oxygen cylinders on exorbitant charges.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Wafa, resident of Shastri Nagar, Dipendra Kumar and Raju Kumar. Abdul Wafa is a director of Unique Hospital at Shastri Nagar.

Nayyar Hasnain Khan, ADG, EOU, said, “A team led by DSP Rajneesh Kumar and DSP Bhaskar raided and arrested a black marketeer who was indulging in oxygen cylinder black marketing racket in this pandemic. He was selling one cylinder for Rs 50,000. Abul Wafa is the main accused. One jumbo size gas cylinder was also recovered.”

According to police, Dhupendra was found drunk. His alcohol test report is positive in the Breath Analyser Test.

Police have seized one Piaggio luggage Carrier carrying seven jumbo and two small gas filled cylinders and many regulators, one motorcycle. House searches by the EOU team is going on. FIR shall be registered in Shastri Nagar Police station, officials said.
