Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), 22 July 2020: Journalist Vikram Joshi, who was seriously injured in the firing of miscreants, died today. Joshi was attacked on Monday night. So far three accused have been arrested in this case and six people have been detained.

He was on a motorcycle with his two daughters when a group of nine people assaulted and opened fire at him around 10:30 pm on Monday near his house in Vijay Nagar area. The two main accused are caught and the weapon was also seized from their possession.

Joshi had complained to the police about miscreants who molested his niece. The family alleged that the miscreants attacked Joshi to avenge this. The police did not take timely action in this matter.

Joshi was going by bike with his daughters on Monday night. On the way, the miscreants stopped and beat him and shot him in the head. In the footage, the daughters can be seen running in panic. The people who attacked him can be seen dragging him and thrashing him before running away from the spot. When the journalist falls on the ground one daughter came back and can be seen crying and looking for help.

The state government has suspended in-charge of the police station and announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family, which protested at the hospital where the journalist died.
