New Delhi, 30th July 2021: Pakistan has welcomed the meeting between the Taliban and China. Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry has said that we believe that as a neighboring country of Afghanistan, China has an important role in the Afghan peace process.

On July 28, a Taliban delegation led by Taliban leader Mullah Baradar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other officials. The talks focused on peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan and the Taliban’s ties with other terror groups, including the East Turkestan Islamic Movement.

India among those who disturbed the peace process: Zahid Hafeez Chowdhury

On the similarity in Pakistan and China’s approach to the Afghan conflict, Zahid said both countries are committed to facilitating and supporting Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation processes. Zahid has criticized India, saying that India was among those who disturbed the peace process. He called India a hindrance to the peace process.

The Government of India has been considering the Afghan Government as the representative of the Afghan people. In such a situation, if Taliban control then India’s problems are going to increase in Afghanistan because India is working on many projects in Afghanistan. Now with China and Pakistan coming together, India’s problems are going to increase.
