Mumbai, 27th May 2022: Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been given a clean chit by the Narcotics Control Board (NCB) in the drugs-on-cruise case.
Meanwhile, news agency ANI quoted sources as saying that the Central Government has directed the Competent Authority to take action against former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede for the wrong investigation in the drugs-on-cruise case.

The names of Aryan Khan and five others were dropped in the charge sheet filed by the anti-drug agency in connection with the case. NCB officials, who filed the charge sheet in a Mumbai court, said Aryan Khan and five others were not named due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

On November 5, 2021, NCB removed Mumbai Zonal Unit Sameer Wankhede from the case and transferred the investigation to its operations unit in Delhi. Wankhede was facing departmental vigilance inquiry after an independent witness in the case claimed extortion by those involved.

On October 2 last year, a high-profile drug party took place on the Cordelia cruise liner en route from Mumbai to Goa. Small quantities of cocaine, mephedrone, charas, hydroponic weed, MDMA, and Rs 1,33,000 in cash were seized at the drugs party. Eight people, including Aryan, were arrested by the NCB during the raid, while six others were let go. During the investigation, this number increased to 20.

Significantly, Aryan Khan had to stay in jail for 28 days in this whole case. On Friday (May 27), the DG of NCB said that no evidence has been found against six people including Aryan Khan in this case. Some shortcomings were found in the initial case and mistakes were made by the first investigation team.
