RAMBAN, OCTOBER. 22, 2020: Police department, Ramban today observed 61st Police Commemoration Day here by paying tributes to Police martyrs.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) DKR, Abdul Jabbar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Haseeb Ur Rehman and Commandant IRP-9th Battalion, Amit led the officers and personnel of J&K Police and J&K IRP in paying the floral tributes to the martyrs here at Shaheed Samarak in the District Police Lines of Ramban.

Every year, October 21 is observed as National Police Commemoration Day in memory of all police personnel, who were martyred by the Chinese in 1959. Their photographs were garlanded and a traditional police salute with ‘Shok Shashtra’ was performed by the armed police personnel.

A large number of officers and officials of J&K Police, SSB, CRP and IRP were present on the occasion.

Earlier, DIG read out the names of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the past one year. He gave away gifts to 49 next of kin of JKP martyrs of Ramban district.

Later, DIG and SSP interacted with the family members of martyrs and listened to their grievances and assured them of their early redressal.

The family members of local martyrs and all others present on the occasion also offered their floral tributes to the martyrs.
