RAJOURI JUNE 24, 2020: The NSS and NCC Wing of Government Degree College, Budhal, organised a series of activities to celebrate International Yoga day

The event focused on encouraging students towards adopting Yoga and a healthy life style in our daily lives to strengthen our immune system especially during COVID-19 pandemic.

A series of online events were conducted in which three major events, essay writing competition on “Yoga: the key to wellness”, poster making competition on different yoga asans and video clips competition of seven yoga asans were organised.

Dr. Romesh Kumar, Principal GDC Kalakote, Dr. Mehmood Ahmed and Dr. Poonam Rani, Assistant Professors of GDC Sidhra, Jammu.

In essay writing, Asya Jan, student of M.Ed Semester IV of Government College of Education Jammu, Sumita Jamwal, student of M.Ed Semester II of Government College of Education, Jammu and Jagmeet Kaur, student of B.A Semester VI of GCW Parade Jammu bagged first, second and third positions respectively.

In poster making competition, Leepika Sharma, student of semester VI Integrated PG English of Government MAM PG College Jammu, Gurpreet Kour student of B.Ed, semester II of MC Khalsa College of Education Chand Nagar Jammu and Neha Rani, student of M.Ed, Semester II of Government College of Education, Jammu were adjudged first, second and third respectively.

In video clips of seven yoga asans, Sumita Jamwal student of M.Ed, semester II of Government College of Education, Jammu, Mehmood Iqbal and Shafeeq-Ur-Rehman, students of B.A Semester II of GDC Sidhra bagged the first, second and third position respectively. Besides, e-certificates were issued to the position holders.

Principal of the College, Professor Mohammad Mazammal Hussain appreciated the enthusiastic approach of the student participants and motivational attitude of the organising committee and the whole faculty of the college.
