Delhi, 9th August 2022: The intimidating speed of the spread of the coronavirus in the capital city of Delhi has increased the government’s concern again. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that though covid cases are increasing in Delhi, there is no need to panic as most of the new cases are mild. Kejriwal also said that his government is closely monitoring the situation and necessary steps will be taken.

According to the data by the Health Department, on August 8, Delhi recorded 1,372 new cases of infection and six deaths. The positivity rate rose to 17.85 percent, the highest since January 21. The positivity rate on January 21 was 18.04 percent.

Delhi had reported 2,423 cases of corona on Sunday, with a positivity rate of 14.97 percent, and two deaths. At the same time, 2,311 cases of the virus and one death were registered on Saturday, which included a positivity rate of 13.84 percent.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 7,484, up from 8,048 on the previous day. The bulletin states that 5,650 patients are currently in home isolation.
