New Delhi, 13th December 2024: Bomb threats came through emails to six schools that compelled the authorities to be very prompt in response. These schools included Delhi Public School DPS East of Kailash, Salwan School, Modern School, Cambridge School Srinivaspuri, and some other schools. The school management along with parents were alarmed after seeing police and fire brigade rushing for inspection at these school locations.
Authorities Respond Promptly
The first message arrived at around 4:30 am. The emergency team made a thorough check at each school after that. “We are following the standard operating procedure (SOP) for such incidents, which include a detailed investigation into the threat emails,” the Delhi Police said.
No suspicious objects or evidence of explosives were discovered in any of the schools, despite the severity of the threats. The emails allegedly mentioned a “secret dark web group” and asserted that the bombs were potent enough to wreak widespread havoc, according to officials.
Officials and Parents Are Nervous
One of the emails added to the anxiety by mentioning forthcoming activities at one of the schools, including parent-teacher conferences and a sports day get-together. It said that because the school facilities were left mostly unguarded, the sizable audiences present during these activities might be targeted.
As of right now,
Parents have been informed by authorities that there isn’t any imminent risk. The authorities are still looking into the emails’ origins and any potential connections to formal internet organisations. In the meanwhile, security has been increased and schools are urged to maintain their vigilance.
Calls for more stringent cyber surveillance and improved safety procedures at the city’s educational institutions have been triggered by the threats.
