Buxar, 10th May 2021: Several dead bodies were seen floating in the Ganga river this morning in Buxar. The corpses were puffed up and almost rotten. About a dozen corpses were lying on the banks of the Ganges in Chausa city adjoining Bihar and Uttar Pradesh (UP).

However, the local administration believes that these dead bodies have come from UP and they belong to COVID patients. The administration believes that the family members might have put them in the river if they did not find any place to bury these dead bodies.

Officer Ashok Kumar said, “Around 40-45 dead bodies were seen floating at Mahadev Ghat in Chausa. It seems that these dead bodies have been dumped in the river.”

The local residents have claimed that there may be around a hundred corpses here. According to another officer KK Upadhyay, from looking at these bloated corpses, it seems that they may be in the water for five to six days.
