Lucknow, 16 April 2021: The Yogi government has taken a big decision in view of increasing Covid cases in Uttar Pradesh. Now there will be a weekly lockdown on Sunday in all the districts of the state and a fine of Rs 1000 will be charged from those who do not wear masks.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered that all urban and rural areas be closed on Sunday. All markets, offices except essential services will remain closed. He informed that on this day, a large-scale sanitization campaign will be done in the markets of all the districts.

In Lucknow, CM said in a virtual meeting with Team 11 for Covid control that the state government is committed to safeguarding the life and livelihood of every citizen. All necessary efforts should be made to ensure that people do not have any kind of discomfort due to Covid. The list of those eligible for maintenance allowance should be updated. The government will soon provide a relief amount to them. The system of ration distribution work should be reviewed under various schemes including Antyodaya. The government will provide ration and maintenance allowance to all the needy. He said that the first phase of panchayat elections was completed in a peaceful manner. In areas where there has been an attempt to spoil the atmosphere, strict action will be taken against those involved. This action will set an example for other phase elections.
