New Delhi, 24th May 2021: Nikita Kaul Dhoundiyal, wife of Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, who was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Pulwama, will join the Indian Army as a lieutenant on May 29. She had passed the Women Entry Scheme exam in Allahabad last year.

Major Vibhuti Dhandial, a resident of Dehradun, was martyred on February 8, 2019, in Pulwama (Kashmir), while fighting with terrorists. After this, Nikita decided to serve the country following in her husband’s footsteps.

After passing the Women Entry Scheme exam in Allahabad last year, she has undergone training from the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. Now she has completed her training and is fully prepared to join the army as a lieutenant.

Lieutenant Colonel Vikas Nautiyal said that Nikita will pass out on the 29th May 2021, her father will come from Faridabad to attend the function. Other relatives wanted to accompany too but are restricted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Soon after the passing out ceremony from Chennai, she will be on leave for 21 days and will go directly with her father to Faridabad. And when things will be normal she will also be visiting Dehradun.
