Uttarakhand, 28th November 2022: In Uttarakhand, the panic of leopard attacks remains in various areas under the Garhwal and Kumaon Forest Divisions. The leopard has made three people his victims in different districts within seven days in the state.

On November 22, the leopard killed a five-year-old child in Nisni village of Pabau block of Pauri. The incident took place that day at around 5.30 pm. Piyush, the five-year-old son of Ravindra Singh, a resident of Nisni village, about 22 km from the district headquarters, was returning home after playing at some distance from the house when the leopard ambushed him. It ran away, leaving the child in the bushes at the noise of the villagers present nearby. However, the child had already died by then.

Leopard terror in Pauri

On 15 May 2022, the leopard killed a woman in Saplodi village of Pabau itself.

May 24, 2022: A woman was injured by a leopard in Kulmori village.

02 June 2022: The leopard attacked a woman in the Bhatti village of the area.

July 19, 2022: The leopard injured a resident of the Singori village of Khirsu block.

On November 24, Aarav Singh’s son Ramesh Singh was made a target by the leopard in Kairali village of Almora district. The leopard attacked the child when he was going from the courtyard of the house to another room. It picked up the child and took him towards the forest.

The leopard killed a 13-year-old child (Arnav Chand s/o Ranveer Chand) on Sunday evening in Maykot village under the Balganga revenue area of Tehri district. There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after this incident. The villagers demanded the forest department capture or kill the animal.
