Lucknow, 9th July 2021: CM Yogi has signified a hard stand of the government against those serving obscene scenes and songs in Bhojpuri films. He has said that no grant will be given by the UP government to such films. It is worth mentioning that Raju Srivastava, President of Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council had discussed with the CM the same.

Raju Srivastava met the CM at his residence in Lucknow on Thursday. He apprised the CM about the ongoing process for the establishment of Film City in UP. Along with this, he expressed concern about vulgarity in Bhojpuri films. He said that obscenity is increasing in Bhojpuri language films and songs which is affecting the culture and society. Thus, there is a need to take concrete steps against this. Heeding to these concerns, CM Yogi directed that the films and songs which increase obscenity should be taken care of.

Raju Srivastava told the CM that recently the scripts of 62 films have been tested. The scripts of some of those films have been banned for content promoting obscenity and immorality. Along with this, these films did not meet the set standards of the film policy made by the government. The scripts of some films have been sent back to the committee members for reconsideration.
