Lucknow, 6th May 2021: Seeing the rising cases in the second wave of global epidemic coronavirus infection, Yogi Adityanath government had increased the number of covid beds in all government hospitals in the state as well as private hospitals, so that the critically infected could get proper treatment.

Private hospitals tried to take advantage of this opportunity of the government. Despite having government-allocated medical oxygen, most of these hospitals refused to treat infected and non-infected patients. The government has taken strict action on this information and a case has been registered against such hospitals.

In case of a shortage of medical oxygen, oxygen is being made available in other cities including Lucknow with the help of railways from other states in collaboration with the Central Government.

Remdesivir Injection and other useful drugs are being procured from other states by sending government ships. On the contrary, private hospitals are selling government quota medical oxygen in black by showing unavailability. At the same time, medicines are being given to the infected at an expensive price.

Medical Education Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna and Health, Medical, and Family Welfare Minister Jai Pratap Singh have also been visiting hospitals since the directive of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Minister Jai Pratap Singh said that some private hospitals have kept the empty beds empty even though they have oxygen so that they can make money here arbitrarily.

An FIR has also been registered against Sun Hospital in a similar case. This will send a message to the hospitals that action will be taken if they take money in the wrong way.

The state government has now tightened the screws on hospitals working illegally. When the notice was sent to Mayo Hospital in Lucknow, its administration immediately started admitting patients. Medical oxygen also became available here as soon as the notice of strict action was received from the government. Similarly, a case has been registered against Sun Hospital in Gomtinagar in Lucknow. The owner of the hospital has also been nominated.
