Texas, 12th June 2021: At least 13 people were injured in a shooting that took place in downtown Austin, Texas, early Saturday, police said. At the same time, the police said that the suspected shooter is still out of control.

Austin Police Department interim chief Joseph Chacon said in a statement that two of the wounded were in critical condition.

“I cannot say that there is no further public danger at this time because the suspect is not in custody,” Chacon said. He said the incident took place at around 01:30 in the Sixth Street Entertainment District area and no casualties have been reported till the time of reporting.

“It is not clear at this time what exactly may have been the cause, but we have informed the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force on further caution,” Chacon said.

On Thursday, three people died in a shooting at a supermarket in Florida. The gunman was also among the dead. At the same time, in the last days of May, there were reports of indiscriminate firing by unidentified people outside a billiards club (banquet hall) in Hialeah, Florida. Two people were killed and more than 20 people were injured in the firing.
