New Delhi, 9th November 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited L K Advani’s residence on Friday to celebrate the veteran BJP leader’s 97th birthday. Modi praised Advani as one of India’s most respected statesmen, dedicated to the nation’s progress, and highlighted the significance of this year as Advani was awarded the Bharat Ratna for his exceptional contributions to the country.
Alongside Modi, BJP President J P Nadda also visited Advani’s home to convey birthday wishes. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini also extended his greetings to Advani.
In a post on X, PM Modi expressed, “He is among India’s most revered leaders, who has devoted his life to advancing the nation’s development. His intellect and insights have earned him immense respect. I am fortunate to have received his guidance over the years. I wish him a long and healthy life.”
Former President Ram Nath Kovind also visited Advani, recognizing him as a remarkable figure in Indian politics, whose leadership and commitment have been pivotal in the country’s growth. Kovind acknowledged Advani’s role as a guiding light for Indian politics.
Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized Advani’s instrumental role in shaping the BJP into a people-focused party through his leadership and organizational skills. Shah noted that Advani’s tenure, particularly as the deputy prime minister and home minister, contributed immensely to the party’s expansion and success.
Advani served as the longest-serving president of the BJP, holding the position during 1986-1990, 1993-1998, and 2004-2005. Several state chief ministers and BJP officials recognized Advani’s crucial impact on the party’s progress and prominence.
