New Delhi, 23rd June 2021: Pakistan’s Lahore city was shaken by a bomb blast. The blast took place outside the house of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and leader of terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in the Johar Town area of Lahore. At least two people were killed and over twenty others injured in the blast.

The blast took place in the E block (residential area) near Ihsan Mumtaz Hospital at Akbar Chowk. All those injured in the incident have been admitted to Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital.

The cause of the blast is being investigated and people have been advised to stay away from the spot so that relief work may not hamper, said Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, Lahore’s CCPO.

Speaking to local news channel Samaa TV, Lahore’s Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik said, “Twelve people, including women and children, had been injured in the incident. The cause of the blast is not yet known. We will only be able to determine the cause after carrying out an investigation.”

It has been claimed that the blast took place due to the gas cylinder explosion or gas pipeline burst.

A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said,”So far we have not been able to determine Whether a gas pipeline burst or whether it was a cylinder. But we have shifted four people to the hospital and more injured are expected.”
