Kolkata, 14th May 2021: At a time when the entire country is facing a catastrophic infection of Covid-19, the number of infected patients is also increasing in Bengal. In such a situation, the shortage of beds and oxygen also remains the same.

Various efforts are being made to cooperate. In this connection, the Jain community organization ‘Jito’ has launched ‘Oxygen on Wheels Bus’ in Kolkata by taking a unique initiative.

 32 Seater bus is equipped with four oxygen concentrator machines of five LPM. This initiative will be of great benefit to the patients suffering from oxygen shortage.

This first Oxygen on Wheels bus service has been launched in Kolkata in collaboration with the State Health Department. The seats in the bus are such that the patients can sit comfortably and they do not have any problem. Four patients at a time can take oxygen from it. At present, this bus has been deployed at the Government NRS Medical College Hospital in the metropolis.

 This bus can also be taken to other hospitals as per the need, where patients are waiting for admission and they need oxygen immediately.

There will also be a health specialist on the bus at all times for oxygen support. Here, on the launch of this service, Rajesh Bhutodia, Chairman, Jito Kolkata Chapter, said, “It is time for the entire community to unite and cooperate with the government in all circumstances.”

Meanwhile, Bhaven Kamdar, secretary of the organization, praised the state government for the management of Covid. Meanwhile, Sheetal Dugar and Vinod Dugar also expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for supporting this initiative.

 It was informed that the cost of this one bus equipped with complete facilities is around Rs. 3 lakhs, which is being borne entirely by Jito. Soon two-three more similar oxygen on wheels will be provided by this non-profit organization.

 In addition, the number of oxygen concentrators in each bus is also planned to be increased from four to six.
