Malad, 10th June 2021: Thackeray government will provide Rs 5 lakh to heirs of the deceased and for the treatment of injured. The Chief Minister went to the hospital and inquired about the injured in the accident.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced to pay Rs 5 lakh each to the heirs of the victims of the building collapse at Malad Malvani and to pay for the treatment of the injured. The Chief Minister expressed his deepest condolences over the tragedy and also visited the injured residents at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Municipal Hospital (Shatabdi Hospital) in Kandivali.

Guardian Minister Aditya Thackeray, Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, Mayor Kishori Pednekar, District Collector Milind Borikar also visited the injured and questioned them. As soon as the Chief Minister got the information about this incident, he discussed it with the Municipal Commissioner and instructed to carry out the relief and rescue work carefully. The Chief Minister also directed that the injured should be immediately shifted to hospitals for treatment at the government’s expense.

At least 11 people have been killed when a residential building collapsed in Mumbai’s Malad. The accident took place at the New Collector compound west of Malad. The four-storey building was reported to have collapsed on neighbouring houses, prompting residents in nearby buildings to evacuate.
