Thiruvananthapuram, 13th July 2021: Mathru Kavacham campaign has been launched for the vaccination of pregnant women in Kerala. Through this corona vaccine will be administered to all pregnant women in the state. State Health Minister Veena George was informed about this on Monday.

Under this campaign all pregnant women will be registered for vaccination at ward level by ASHA workers. In addition, those who can register themselves will be encouraged to do so. Also those who cannot register without facilities like smartphones and computers will be helped.

Special camps will be organized

The Health Minister said that during this time the health workers will ensure that all pregnant women are registered and vaccinated in each sub-centre area. Along with this, he said that special vaccination camps would be organized for pregnant women on special days at the district level.

The Kerala Health Minister said that arrangements would be made at the vaccination centers to avoid contact with other people coming for vaccination. Also said that it can seriously affect the health of pregnant women. The minister said that people above 35 years of age, who have problems like obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure, this disease can be serious for them. Along with this, he said that it is very important to get vaccinated during pregnancy. Also said that it is very important to maintain a mask and social distance after getting the vaccine.
