Kolkata, 18 July, 2023: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that Indian students pursuing a masters degree in France will be exclusively getting a 5-year long term post study visa. PM Modi made the announcement during his address to the Indian community at LA Seine Musicale in Paris.

Prior to this announcement, Indian students would get a 2-year post-study visa. Certainly, this is great news for students in France and those planning to study in the country. This announcement has garnered significant appreciation and admiration for the Indian Prime Minister.

After obtaining their master’s degree, Indian students can now get thorough work experience in the French working sector, and create exciting career opportunities. This also applies to students pursuing their doctoral studies in France.

Such announcements are reflections of the strong alliance between France and India, also known as ‘unbreakable friendship between India and France’. This historic announcement will propel several Indian students to pursue their higher studies in France.

Moreover, the PM also prominently announced the use of Unified Payment Interface (UPI) to make payments in the Eiffel tower, and later the entire France. Thus, Indians will be able to pay in rupees while staying in France.

The Indian Prime Minister, who arrived in Paris on Thursday on a two-day official visit, was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the airport. French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne welcomed him at the airport. He is attending the National Day Parade of France with French President Emmanuel Macron.
