Tezpur, 05 Jan 2023: The Indian Army organised a multi-speciality medical camp for the locals at Chillipam Monastery at Rupa, Arunachal Pradesh on 05 January 23.

The camp was organised for extending primary health care and facilitating provisioning of free medical advice to locals of the area. A team of 03 doctors from Army along with one Medical Officer from District Medical Office conducted the camp and provided locals with preliminary health check up and medicines. After necessary consultation by the medical officers, free medicines to the needy people were also distributed. Approximately 300 civilians from village Rupa and adjoining areas got treated in the camp.

Keeping in view the resurging threat of COVID-19 in the country, a ‘COVID Awareness Campaign’ was also organised with an aim of educating local populace about prophylactic measures to prevent onset / transmission of disease and actions on being infected by the virus. In addition, locals were also provided with face masks, hand sanitizers and hand gloves as COVID precautionary measure.

The seamless synergy between Army and civil administration fulfilled a long awaited demand of the local population of Rupa. The aged and the infirm who cannot otherwise traverse long distances for specialized treatment benefited the most by the Medical Camp.
