Lucknow, 12th July 2021: Arbitrary recovery from parents in the name of school buses can be put to a halt soon. To stop the arbitrariness of the operators, the transport department is preparing to fix seat wise fees per student. For this, efforts are going on at the ground level.

In this regard, the Divisional Transport Officers have been asked to fix the seat wise charge of children after taking out the details of the expenditure on school buses, diesel, repair, insurance, salary of staff, fitness and other maintenance expenses of the buses.

Seat rate will not exceed Rs 1940: In view of the distance and cost in the details sent by the RTO of different divisions, it has been advised to keep the amount seat wise within about two thousand rupees. If the transport officials are to be believed, the seat wise amount can be fixed between Rs 1800 and Rs 1940.

Transport Commissioner Dheeraj Sahu said that the Divisional Transport Officers have sent the complete details to the committee of Additional Transport Commissioner, Finance Controller and other officers. Officials are looking into it. It will be placed before the committee.
