Jharkhand, 15th June 2022: Around 150 Hindu families have pasted posters of house sales outside their respective homes in Hatia Road of Pachamba police station area in Giridih, Jharkhand. The Pachamba market was also closed on Tuesday, People accused the police of taking unilateral action after the communal clash.
On the night of June 12, there was fierce stone pelting between two communities in Hatia Road of Pachamba over a molestation case. The police arrested seven people including two minors and sent them to Hazaribagh Remand Home and Giridih Jail on Monday. People of one community are agitated and are calling the action of police unilateral.
The locals said that they are fed up with the incidents of stone pelting, molestation and FIR against innocent people every day. They have collectively decided to sell their homes and go. People allege that the guilty are still roaming outside and the police have arrested innocent people.
People say that the boys of a particular community of the adjoining locality often come to Hatia Road and create controversy, and the administration also comes under their political influence and takes action against innocent people. So they will sell the house and go somewhere else.
On Tuesday, the people of Hatia Road, agitated by the incident, collectively kept the shops closed and pasted the poster of ‘House-Shop Sale’ in front of their houses. When the news went viral in social media, former Giridih MLA Nirbhay Kumar Shahabadi, Chunnukant, Sandeep Dangaich, Deepak Swarnkar, MP representative Dinesh Prasad Yadav reached the spot and sat on a dharna along with the local citizens.
During this, everyone demanded action against the culprits and for the innocents to be released.
On the instruction of former Giridih MLA Nirbhay Kumar Shahabadi, a delegation of five people reached the Pachamba police station. The delegation included SDO Vishaldeep Khalko, DSP Headquarters Sanjay Kumar Rana, SDPO Sadar Anil Kumar Singh etc.
Ward councilors Sadanand Verma, Ajay and Narendra Singh spoke and submitted a memorandum in support of the six demands. After cordial talks, the dharna in Pachamba, led by former MLA Shahabadi, was called of.
SP Giridih Amit Renu said that the responsibility has been given to DSP Headquarters Sanjay Kumar Rana, SDPO Sadar Anil Kumar Singh for talks with the agitators.
