Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), 2nd August 2022: Recently, Indian Idol fame Farmani Naaz, who was trending for her song, ‘Har Har Shambhu’ on her YouTube channel, has hit back at the Muslim clerics who said that Naaz should not sing.

Naaz recently sang the Shiva bhajan, ‘Har Har Shambhu’. Later, a dispute arose regarding this. The ulema of Deoband was furious at this. The Muslim organization described the singer’s song ‘Har Har Shambhu’ as something which is ‘against Islam’.

Deoband Ulema Mufti Asad Qasmi said that singing is not allowed under Sharia law. The Ulema also said that singing ‘any song’ is ‘haram’ or forbidden in Islam. He said that women, especially those who consider themselves Muslim, should stay away from singing such songs.

Farmani said, “I am progressing by singing songs on the strength of my talent. I have never insulted any religion. After my marriage, a son was born with an illness. Upon this, my husband and in-laws left. The husband got married again without divorcing me. No one ever understood my sorrow over this.”

She added, “No one should have any problem with this. People are liking my songs. I am doing it for the future of the child. The government should take such a step that what happened to me should not happen to anyone else. An artist has no religion.”
