Thane, 11th June 2021: The feud between former Commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) Sanjeev Jaiswal and ex-Corporator of Congress Sanjay Ghadigaonkar does not seem to be getting a solution. The Corporator had written a letter to the Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackrey and requested him to probe the decisions taken in the tenure of Jaiswal. Now, Jaiswal has given a five-page explanation to the CM and has claimed that Ghadigaonkar is going after him due to vested interests.

A few days ago, Ghadigaonkar had written to the CM claiming that there have been irregularities in 102 decisions taken by Jaiswal in his tenure. Opposing his increased tenure, he also said that Jaiswal got an extension only due to his close ties with the former CM Devendra Fadanvis.

Moreover, in the letter, Ghadigaonkar says that there had been an inappropriate incident with a girl at the commissioners’ house. He also alleges that the commissioner did not follow the standard procedure to select the officers in the Fire Department, Public Works Department, Town Planning Department, and Encroachment Department. He has demanded that an inquiry shall be set up to investigate these decisions and corruption by a committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of the state.

However, after this allegation, ex-commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal has sent his explanation to the CM in which he has put up multiple sensational points. He has claimed that the ex Corporator Ghadigaonkar is a blackmailer and his allegations are bogus. He added that Ghadigaonkars’ post was cancelled due to the fake caste certificate; he was banned from contesting the election for the next six years. Jaiswal also said that since the cancellation of the corporators’ post, Ghadigaonkar has been trying to damage his reputation by misleading allegations.

Jaiswal also dropped a bomb in the letter saying that Ghadigaonkar is part of the same infamous ‘Golden gang’ whose members – Vikrant Chavan (INC), Sudhakar Chavan (MNS), Hanmant Jagdale (NCP), and Najib Mulla (NCP), all corporators, were arrested for suicide case of Suraj Parmar. Jaiswal also maintains that the gang had been involved in several blackmailing and extortion cases in TMC, and he had been successful in breaking this gang with help from the Police. It must be noted that the arrested corporators are out on bail but their cases are still in progress.

In the letter, Jaiswal also states that there is a mention of Ghodigaonkar in the administrative report as an RTI activist blackmailer. They used to file fake complaints in the Thane Municipal Corporation. One other RTI activist was arrested during that time. Then they had also tried to create a bogus video against me which was found fake after a thorough investigation. I also took steps against illegal constructions due to which there was a threat to my life.

Jaiswal vehemently disagrees with the allegations and claims that Ghadigaonkar had also complained against me in a TDR loading issue but it was rejected by the competent authority. Besides that, the court had also struck down Ghadigaonkar’s plea against my tenure extension.

Lastly, Jaiswal said in the letter that Ghadigaonkar and others have tried to mentally harass him during his tenure and even after that.

Jaiswal has requested the CM to take due action against Ghadigaonkar and file a case against him under relevant laws.
