JAMMU OCTOBER 20, 2020: A Webinar cum Training Programme was today organized by District Industries Centre, Jammu in collaboration with the GeM, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India for registration on GeM portal.

The WEBINAR was attended – joined by more than 200 participants through online mode. The Societies / Entrepreneurs from Handloom and Handicraft Departments also attended the programme.

The awareness was done regarding Prime minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP), Industrial Development Scheme 2017, State Package, Udhyam, GeM and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan.

The event was held on the directions of Commissioner/Secretary Industries & Commerce, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi and overall supervision of Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Anoo Malhotra.

While welcoming the participants, General Manager, DIC Jammu, Subah Mehta highlighted the advantages of GeM registration by the MSMEs. She said that it is now mandatory for Government Departments to make all purchases through the GeM portal, while it is also obligatory for MSME Sector to get them registered on GeM portal to sell their products to the Government Departments. The portal is transparent and payments shall be made to sellers in stipulated time period. Sellers can join in any bidding all over the country on competitive rates and can explore the market on PAN India.

The GM also emphasized to the Industrial Associations to come forward and motivate their associate MSME members to join GeM.

Besides, Deepesh Gehlot, Director GeM and Kush Tyagi expert on GeM joined from Chandigarh through Webmail to impart the training for getting registration on the GeM portal.

The participants were also made aware regarding benefits of GeM, process of getting themselves registered and further steps needed to be taken for selling their end products and services.

They were told that the GeM is a form of one stop Government e-market place hosted by DGS&D, where common user of goods and service, can procure.

Major advantages of GeM for sellers are direct access to all Government Departments, One stop shop for bids/reverse auction on products/services, Dynamic pricing, Vendor rating system, new product suggestion facility for sellers, seller friendly dashboard for selling and monitoring of supplies and payments, and regular new products categories can be found on the GeM.

During live session, queries and doubts were cleared by the experts. Besides, Officers and Field Officers of District Industries Centre Jammu also attended the programme. Neeraj Sharma and Surinder Gupta from State Taxes Department guided the entrepreneurs about the returns and reimbursement process for GST and Adarsh Anand from J&K Bank Ltd. delivered a lecture on NPA and other services of Banks which are for the benefits of unit holders.

Besides, District Industries Centre Jammu organized an awareness camps in all towns/municipal areas of Jammu District, viz. Jammu, Akhnoor, Khour, Jourian, R.S Pura, Bishnah, Arnia and Ghou Manhasan under ”My Town My Pride Programme”.
