Patna, April 25, 2021: Arun Chaudhary, former Director-General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), died due to coronavirus disease (COVID19). Chaudhary, a 1977 batch officer of Bihar cadre, was the SP of Vaishali, Madhubani and Rohtas as well as the SSP of Patna.

He was posted with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the CISF before taking over as Director-General of SSB during the Central Deputation. He was identified as a high-profile IPS officer. He was instrumental in the investigation of many big cases related to corruption while being the SP of the Monitoring Investigation Bureau in Bihar. Vijay Star was also awarded for his contribution while working with the IB during the Kargil War.

Chief Minister mourns the death of Arun Chaudhary

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed condolences on the death of Chaudhary due to corona infection. In his condolence message, the CM said, “Arun Chaudhary was a 1977 batch Indian Police Service officer of Bihar cadre. In addition to the former DG of the Armed Forces Force, he also served in the CISF and IB. He was an efficient administrator. His death has caused irreparable damage in the administrative and social sector.”
