Patna, April 23, 2021: As many as 6067 patients suffering from COVID-19 recovered in the last 24 in the state. As per data provided by the Bihar Health Department 79.28 percent recovery rate has been registered. However, 12672 new cases have been found in the state including 2801 new cases in Patna. Along with Patna, Gaya also registered 816 cases and 704 in Muzaffarpur.

The number of people who died of corona in Bihar is increasing. A record 24 corona patients died at Patna’s NMCH on Friday. There were 9 women patients among them. Also, 9 patients died in PMCH. 3 women were among the dead.

On Thursday, 17 patients died in this hospital. Meanwhile, CM Nitish Kumar has announced that Corona patients will be treated free of cost at IGIMS in Patna. The state government will bear the expenses on medical services and medicines.

Earlier, former RJD MLA Kunti Devi (67 years) passed away. She was corona infected while undergoing treatment at PMCH. Kunti Devi was a former MLA of Attari assembly of Gaya. On 23 January 2021, Kunti Devi was sentenced to life imprisonment in the JDU activist Sumirak Yadav murder case.

Another IAS officer of Bihar Ravi Shankar Chaudhary died from corona. Ravi Shankar Chaudhary was Additional Secretary in Health Department. He was also the DM of Arwal. He was admitted to Patna AIIMS for a long time.

Apart from this sample collected from persons of other state is 62.
